1. I often make mistakes in grammar. 我经常在语法上犯错。
make a mistake意为“犯错”。
例如:
Everyone makes mistakes.
人人都会犯错。
Be careful, or you will make a mistake.
小心,不然你就会犯错。
与mistake相关的短语还有by mistake“错误地”和 mistake A for B “错把A当B”。
例如:
I locked him in the house by mistake.
我误把他锁在房子里了。
Miss Zhang mistook Tom for his twin brother.
张老师误把汤姆当成他的双胞胎哥哥了。

2. Everyone is born with the ability to learn.
每个人都生来拥有学习的能力。
the ability to do sth.意为“做……的能力”, 例如:
With the ability to dance, Yang Liping becomes a good dancer.
拥有跳舞的能力,杨丽萍成为了一名优秀的舞者。
He has the ability ro write novels.
他有写小说的能力。
be born with the ability to do sth 意为“与生俱有……的能力”。
例如:
It seems that Jimmy is born with the ability to draw.
几米似乎与生俱有画画的能力。

3. But whether or not you can do this well depends on your learning habits.
但你能否学好取决于你的学习习惯。
(1)whether or not 意为“是否”。
例如:
Whether or not he will succeed, it’s none of my business.
不管他是否成功都与我无关。
I’ll call him to see whether or not he comes.
我将打电话看他是否会来。
(2)depend on=depend upon,意为“依赖”“取决于, 视情况而定”。后接名词、代词或动名词,
例如:
He is honest. You can depend on what he says.
他很老实,你可以相信他说的话。
Whether we will go outside or stay at home depends on the weather.
我们是出去还是待在家取决于天气。
depend on sb. to do sth.意为“依靠某人做某事”。
例如:
You can depend on him to help you with your English.
你可以依靠他帮你学英语。
It all depends.常用于口语中,意为“看情况吧”。
例如:
—Will you go to the cinema tonight?
你今晚去电影院吗?
—It all depends.
看情况吧。

4. It is also easier for you to pay attention to it for a long time.
对你来说更容易长时间留意它。
(1)It’s+adj.+for sb. to do sth.意为“做某事对某人而言是……”, 该句型中形容词用来说明事或物的特点。
例如:
It’s important for us to learn a second language.
学好第二门语言是很重要的。
It’s rude for kids to shout at their parents.
小孩对父母吼叫是不礼貌的。
如果形容词是用来说明人的性格和特点,则用It’s+adj.+for sb. to do sth.结构。
例如:
It’s nice of you to help us.
你能帮助我们真好。
(2)pay attention to意为“注意,关注” 。
例如:
You should pay attention to your pronunciation.
你应该注意你的发音。

5. Even if you learn something well, you will forget it unless you use it.
即使你学的很好,如果你不使用的话你也会忘记。
even if可换成 even though,意为“即使”,后接句子,表示让步。
例如:
Even if you are clever, you should work hard.
即使你很聪明,你也应该努力学习。
Even if my father loves me, he never spoils me.
即使我爸爸爱我,他也从不溺爱我。
unless意为“除非”,后接句子,表示条件。
例如:
You can’t watch TV unless you finish your homework.
除非你完成作业,你才能看电视。
We won’t get there on time unless we hurry up.
除非我们快点,我们才能准时到达那里。

6. It’s not enough to just study hard.
仅仅努力学习是不够的。
It’s (not) enough to do sth.意为“做……(不)是足够的”。
例如:
It’s not enough to just have bread.
只吃面包是不够的。
It’s enough to drink a bottle of water.
喝一瓶水足够了。
enough可修饰名词,也可修饰形容词。修饰名词时放在其前,修饰形容词放在其后。
例如:
I have enough money in my pocket.
我口袋里有足够多的钱。
I’m old enough to dress myself.
我已经足够大,可以自己穿衣服了。

7. They also look for ways to review what they have learned.
他们也会找方法复习所学知识。
look for, find 和find out 都含有“寻找、找到”的意思,但其含义和用法却不同。
look for意为“寻找”,是有目的地找,强调“寻找”这一动作。
例如:
He is looking for his shoes.
他在找他的鞋子。
find意为“找到、发现”,通常指找到或发现具体的东西,也可指偶然发现某物或某种情况,强调的是找的结果。
例如:
Will you find me a pen?
你替我找支钢笔好吗?
He didn’t find his bike.
他没找到他的自行车。
find out意为“找出、发现、查明”,多指通过调查、寻问、打听、研究之后“搞清楚、弄明白”,通常含有“经过困难曲折”的含义,指找出较难找到的、无形的、抽象的东西。
例如:
Please find out when the train leaves.
请查一下火车什么时候离站。
Read this passage,and find out the answer to this question.
读这篇短文,找出这个问题的答案。
